Standard Pauper Deck Challenge

Format: Standard Pauper
Time: Sunday at 9:30am PST

Currently starting its 35th season (usually, each season starts with the release of a new Standard expansion) , SPDC is a Standard Pauper tournament especially scheduled on Sundays trying to be time-friendly for players in both Europe and the Americas.

Standard Pauper is an entry format into competitive MTG sporting a small and mostly even card pool, favoring creative deckbuilding and tight play since every small advantage counts.

To take part, the player must create an account at www.pdcmagic.com/gatherling using the same screen name he uses in MTGO. He can register to any event at http://pdcmagic.com/gatherling/player.php with the Register link under PREREGISTER FOR EVENTS. It will prompt him to enter a deck list, which is mandatory. During the event, all communication is done in the #SPDC chat room in MTGO.

Players can message DrChrisBakerDC and/or rremedio1 in MTGO or http://forums.pdcmagic.com if they need any help.

Community Legacy League

Format: Legacy
Time: Wednesday at 8:30pm EST

The Community Legacy League is a newly formed MTGO free to play Constructed League. The legacy community on MTGO is great, but the only leagues available from WOTC cost 12 tickets, and the meta-game is warped to Grixis, Miracles, Eldrazi. We here at the Legacy League wish to provide a fun community driven competitive environment, where you actually chat with your opponents. We want to simulate the feeling of the LGS in your own home. We want people to feel free to play any deck they want and not feel as if they wasted their money. We use discord to chat with everyone, and that has worked out great and fostered a wonderful community. We are averaging about 15-20 players in each event, and want to make it more! Prizes go out the top 4 competitors each week (1 random person who didn't make top 4 gets a door prize), and we do not allow draws into top 4, in the spirit of competition and fairness.
